By the 22nd Century, the Howard Families have a life expectancy of 150 years achieved by financially rewarding those with long‐lived grandparents, who married each other and had children. They have kept their existence secret, but decide to reveal themselves to the society, which refuses to believe that the Howard Families obtained their lifespan by selective breeding, instead accuse them of withholding the “secret” of longevity. The only way to escape persecution is to capture the first interstellar research ship being under construction on the orbit.
